47-year-old pleaded guilty to assault charges
A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to nine months in jail after attacking his partner with a glass bottle in Newark, Peterborough.
Jamie Bunn argued with his partner at her flat on 27th July last year after she ended their relationship.
During the argument, Bunn threw a glass bottle at the victim's face.
Fortunately, she did not sustain serious injuries.

The following day, Bunn broke into the flat and caused significant damage, smashing a window, breaking crockery, and creating a hole in the living room wall.
He also physically assaulted the victim by hitting her on the head, scratching, and kicking her.
Police reports revealed further violence, with Bunn punching his partner and leaving her with a black eye in May last year.
Court proceedings
On 7th April, Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, acting as a crown court, sentenced Bunn to nine months in jail.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of assault and criminal damage.
He also admitted using violence to gain entry to a premises, with no additional penalty given for the charge.
Detective Constable Matthew Wright, who led the investigation, said:
“This was not a one-off offence in the heat of the moment, it was a series of assaults and intimidatory behaviour by Bunn which became worse when the victim told him their relationship was over.
“His actions were despicable so I’m glad he’s been brought to justice.”
