Man caught hiding Class A drugs in underwear sentenced
Drugs discovered during strip search after roadside stop in Peterborough
A 21-year-old man caught concealing wraps of heroin and cocaine in his underwear has avoided jail after being sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court.
Gerson Sami, of Willonholt, Ravensthorpe, was stopped by neighbourhood officers on a slip road off the A47 in Peterborough on 16 October 2023, following a suspected drug deal in Stanground. No drugs were initially found in the vehicle or during a search of Sami and a second man, but a strip search in custody revealed 150 wraps of heroin and cocaine hidden in Sami’s underwear.
Sami pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply and was handed a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and a 15-day rehabilitation activity.
No action was taken against the other man.
