A man in his 20s remains in hospital in serious condition following a car crash on the A6003 between Uppingham and Corby, Leicestershire Police have said.
Police were called at 11.30pm on Sunday, 18th January, after a silver Mercedes collided with a ditch near the junction with Stoke Road in Lyddington.
Emergency services attended the scene, including Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The man, who was the front seat passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to hospital.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and has since been discharged from hospital.
Leicestershire Police said the driver, a 19-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while above the legal alcohol limit.
He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
The investigation remains ongoing, with officers speaking to witnesses and conducting a forensic examination of both the vehicle and the scene.
Police Constable David Handisides from Leicestershire Police's Roads Policing Unit urged anyone with information to come forward.
“A man remains in hospital in a serious condition," PC Handisides said.
"We are continuing to work to establish exactly how the collision has happened and are appealing to anyone who may have information to please make contact.
