Major traffic concerns raised for proposed Stamford housing development
Local campaigners warn of traffic chaos at the Quarry farm site
Campaigners claim plans for hundreds of houses near Stamford will lead to traffic chaos
The group are concerned the proposals for the Quarry Farm site don't take into account the full impact on local roads.
They commissioned their own review which raised concerns
We spoke to leading campaigner Carys Vaughan.
She told us: "If this is going to happen this needs to be right."
This report essentially says what they're currently providing is inadequate
"If housing is going to be built it needs to have the right infrastructure and the right services to match that."
"This report essentially says what they're currently providing is inadequate and is going to produce a lot more problems on our roads."
"Most people in Stamford were just completely shocked by this."
The conclusions are quite stark really
"The idea that you could have 2000 houses - potentially 4000 additional cars added onto our road network and for their to be a negligible impact on local traffic."
"We decided that the only way we could have a proper appraisal of that and have someone look at whether actually those reports contained any inconsistencies and flaws was to be able to commission an independent traffic consultant to do that work for us."
"The main concern is the A606 and the A1 junction - where the report states there are some serious potentially adverse safety impacts."
"The conclusions are quite stark really and we really want the local decision makers to look at this report."
We approached Allison Homes for comment.
They said they've been working constructively with interested parties to focus on thoroughly assessing the potential impact.
