Drivers in Peterborough hoping to visit Serpentine Green will need to be mindful of potential delays from today (Tuesday).

Barring access to properties, the ever-popular expressway will be closed to all road users looking to make use of the westbound off and on sliproads at junction 3 (Serpentine Green) for most of this week.

Though a simple diversion will be in place, it is possible that traffic build-up at peak times may cause delays.

Peterborough City Council say the restrictions – which are due to cut and patch works – will remain effective for “no more than five days from February 24.”

Drivers may also need to anticipate possible delays elsewhere in the city centre next week when roadworks begin near Bourges Boulevard at the beginning of March.

Gladstone Street will be closed to traffic for pole replacement works between 8am and 5.30pm next Monday.

Alternative routes for affected vehicles are Cobden Avenue, Cromwell Road, Link Road, or Gladstone Street, Russell Street, Cromwell Road, Bright Street, Lincoln Road, Cobden Avenue, Cromwell Road, Hankey Street, Gladstone Street.
