Major regeneration on Lincoln Road finishes ahead of schedule

The project saw new crossings, better paving, bike stands and seating added, as well as improvements to bus stops and pedestrian safety.

Improvements to Lincoln Road in Peterborough are now complete, with the work wrapping up earlier than expected.

The changes include raised crossings, new zebra crossings, better seating, and more space for cyclists, aiming to make the street safer and more attractive.

Councillors and local businesses say the upgrades have already made a real difference and hope it will encourage more people to visit.

Councillor Angus Ellis, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “I am absolutely delighted that this vital work has been completed ahead of schedule and would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts."

While Cafer Koc, owner of the Cafe Algarve in Lincoln Road added: "We are happy with the finished work and so are many of our customers. Business is picking up and the road looks cleaner and nicer than it was previously."
