A man from Huntingdon has been prohibited from street drinking and entering shops following a persistent pattern of anti-social behaviour.

Tony Devlin, 43 and of no fixed address, was issued a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on 6th August.

The CBO follows Devlin’s repeated violations of a Community Protection Notice.

Under the terms of the order, Devlin is restricted from entering Huntingdon Town Centre during the hours of 8am and 6pm daily.

He is also prohibited from being drunk within the areas defined by Huntingdon Town Centre and Ramsey at any time.

Furthermore, the order forbids him from possessing alcohol in these areas, regardless of whether it is in an opened or closed vessel.

He is also barred from entering retail premises affiliated with the Huntingdonshire Business Against Crime scheme.

PC Janine Hagger from the Partnerships and Prevention Team said: “Devlin’s behaviour was having a significant detrimental impact on local businesses as well as people living and working in Huntingdon.

“We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will always take action where there is evidence to do so.

"Where appropriate, we will also seek CBOs to help prevent further offending.

"These orders are an important tool in protecting communities, supporting businesses and providing reassurance to those affected by persistent anti-social behaviour.”

Anyone with information regarding a breach of Devlin’s CBO is advised to contact police online.

For those without internet access, the contact number is 101.
