Peterborough drug dealer jailed after gun shots heard in park

A drug dealer has been jailed for over two years after a firearm was shot in a Peterborough park.

18-year-old Hamdard Khan was part of a group involved in an altercation in Central Park in March 2025.

Officers attended the park after receiving a report from a member of the public, and found a folding lock knife and five spent firearm casings.

Khan was identified from CCTV.

At his home on Thistlemoor Road in New England, officers found:

He was charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, supplying heroin and supplying cocaine.

While on bail, Khan and 23-year-old Rihaem Khan, were involved in an altercation where pieces of wood, a brick (picked up by Rihaem) and a knife were used.

Two people suffered minor injuries.

He admitted an additional count of affray following this and was jailed for 26 months.

Rihaem was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, after admitting affray.
