Four people have been arrested after a teenager was seriously injured in a stabbing in Papworth Everard on Saturday night.

Police were called shortly before 10pm to reports of a 16-year-old boy being attacked at the playing fields off Ermine Street North.

He was found with serious injuries to his face and was rushed to hospital. The victim is still being treated and his condition is being described as stable- though his injuries could be life changing.

Following police investigations, four males have been taken into custody at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.

Detective Inspector Lindsay Harbour says officers are continuing their investigation in the local area and urges anyone with information of the event to get in touch:

"We understand how concerning this incident will be for the community, but I hope the arrests we've made offer some reassurance. We're asking anyone who hasn't yet spoken with police to come forward."
