Five-year-old boy seriously injured in Peterborough crash

Police are asking for witnesses and dashcam footage after a five-year-old boy was seriously injured in a crash on the A47 in Peterborough.

The incident happened just after 3.40pm on 20th October on the westbound carriageway of Soke Parkway, shortly past junction 17.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene after a red Lexus 220D left the road and struck a tree.

The child, a boy from Peterborough, was initially taken to Peterborough City Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

Two adults in the same vehicle - a 38-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Peterborough - suffered minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact.
