Fierce Women Brings New Business Support Network to Bourne
The group aims to empower female entrepreneurs and create a welcoming community
A new business group is launching in Bourne to help more women set up and grow their businesses.
Fierce Women was started by Jess Monroe after she found other networking events unwelcoming and wanted to create a safe space for women to connect and share their experiences.
The group, which began in Stamford and Peterborough, is now coming to Bourne.
A vital part of your business growing is to have that community around you
Jess says having support from others going through the same thing is vital:
“People open up about what they're going through in business, and then you always find that at least half of the room has been through it too."
"So it's just a lovely community. I think being in business, you a hundred percent need people around you that support you and get it."
"So I think a vital part of your business growing is to have that community around you and to have women that fiercely support everything that you do.”
Imposter syndrome is huge
She added that breaking down barriers for women in business is a key aim:
“Women in business imposter syndrome is huge. There is that stereotypical thing of women against women as well."
"It can be quite difficult, so we are trying to break down those barriers. I wanted a place for women to come where they felt completely welcome, where there's no judgement, it's community over competition. It is not one industry per event. Everyone's welcome.”
Fierce Women aims to offer a supportive environment for businesswomen at any stage, with a focus on encouragement and community.
