Drug dealer spotted by CCTV operators
It happened in June 2025
A man, who was spotted drug dealing by CCTV operators in Peterborough, has been jailed.
Ladislav Cehelnik, 46, was on Lincoln Road, Millfield, at about 1am on 7 June last year when he attracted the attention of staff reviewing CCTV in the area.
Believing he was dealing drugs, police were called and he was arrested.
When Cehelnik, of no known address, was searched, officers found 12 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as more than £150 in cash.
They also seized a phone and found messages consistent with drug dealing.
On Friday (19 June) at Cambridge Crown Court, Cehelnik was jailed for two years, having admitted possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin at a previous hearing.
DC Emily Richardson said: “This was an excellent spot by the CCTV operators, and I’d like to thank them for being proactive in calling us.
“Crack cocaine and heroin ruin lives by trapping people in addiction. They can also be linked to associated crime such as anti-social behaviour, violence and theft.
“Drug dealers prey on vulnerable people and we will continue our work bring them to justice.”
