A 29-year-old drug dealer has been jailed for five years and seven months for supplying cocaine and cannabis in Peterborough.

Frankie Fitzgerald, of Ellwood Avenue, Stanground, was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on 8th December, coinciding with his birthday.

The charges came after officers from the Neighbourhood Support Team conducted a warrant at Fitzgerald’s home on 20th October.

Cocaine and cannabis worth up to £1,595 were found, along with designer goods, an extendable baton, and a stolen moped with false plates attached.

Phones seized during the operation revealed drug-related activity, including a debt sheet. Fitzgerald admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, possessing criminal property, handling stolen goods, and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.

Detective Constable Nik Loizou said the case highlights how criminal activity can have serious consequences.

“This may not have been the birthday present Fitzgerald was hoping for, but it once again demonstrates that crime doesn’t pay.

"He thought he could get away with dealing these substances, but his actions caught up with him.”

DC Loizou added that drugs can have damaging effects on both individuals and communities, often being linked to antisocial behaviour, violence, and other crimes.

“Our team continues to tackle drug supply and bring offenders to justice. Anyone with information about drug dealing is encouraged to report it to us.”
