A man has been jailed for two years and six months after being caught dealing heroin and crack cocaine in the Peterborough area.

Kane Haynes, 26, was stopped by officers while driving a Ford Kuga on Wainman Road, Woodston, on 28th October.

Haynes attempted to grab a red iPhone on the passenger seat during the stop, but a police officer managed to seize the device before arresting him.

An analysis of phones linked to Haynes revealed they had been used to send bulk messages advertising the sale of heroin and crack cocaine.

Haynes, of Harrier Way, Market Deeping, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of both substances and received his sentence at Cambridge Crown Court on 23rd January.

Detective Constable Tom Corbett said:

“Although no class A drugs were recovered, it was clear from phone evidence that Haynes was involved in supplying these substances.

Crack cocaine and heroin ruin lives by trapping people in addiction and can cause misery for communities with associated anti-social behaviour and crime.”
