Thief jailed after stealing £1,800-worth of alcohol from Peterborough pub
Damon Loates also stole laundry products from a Peterborough shop before being arrested
A man who broke into a Peterborough pub and stole almost £2,000 worth of alcohol has been jailed.
52-year-old Damon Loates broke into the College Arms in Broadway through the back garden door in the early hours of 15 May.
He entered with another man and stole around £1,800 worth of alcohol.
Loates was later arrested on 9 June for stealing laundry products from Farmfoods, in Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough.
He appeared in court the next day and was bailed, but failed to attend a further hearing.
He was arrested again and admitted burglary and theft from a shop at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 4 August.
Loates has now been jailed for six months.
PC Jack Jenkins, who investigated, said: "Thefts, especially those where large amounts of stock are stolen, have adverse impacts on the businesses, and I would like to thank those targeted by Loates for reporting the incidents to us."
