Could the new Rutland Flower Show be one of the biggest events in the county?
Today is the final day of the three-day event
The new Rutland Flower Show could be one of the biggest events in the county.
It's as the last day of the show is underway with thousands of people who have travelled from across the county to be at the showground this weekend.
Bringing people into the county is great and having this for the local people
Before the weekend even started over 10,000 tickets had been sold setting this brand new event up for a successful few days.
Over the weekend there's been floral competitions, celebrity gardener talks, live music and stalls.
Nick Hamilton, from Barnsdale Gardens, is a speaker at the event and said:
"I think year on year this will build, and it will become a real jewel in the crown of Rutland's yearly events."
"The thing we get asked the most when we say we are from Rutland is, 'Where's that?'"
"People don't know where it is and therefore what we've got to offer."
"So bringing people into the county is great but also having this for the local people too."
"It's attracting an awful lot of people, and everyone I've spoken to was really looking forward to it."
Year on year this will build
The Rutland Flower Show says this year it will bring, for the first time, all of the surrounding Flower and Garden clubs, organisations, and public together to showcase Rutland and the surrounding area’s Horticulture.
