The mayor of Cambridgeshire has written to Peterborough council asking them to look at the legal challenges over the use of a hotel in the city for asylum seekers.

It follows a high court ruling that the use of The Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex would be no longer permitted due to a breach of planning guidelines.

Paul Bristow said he wants the authority to look at the continued use of the Dragonfly Hotel in a similar way.

Up to 146 asylum seekers have been housed there since Novermber 2024
