Burst water main leaves Bourne without supply and schools forced to close
The outage has also forced Bourne Academy and Bourne Grammar School to close
Residents in Bourne and surrounding areas are facing major disruption this morning (6 November) after a burst water main left many properties with little or no water supply.
According to Anglian Water, engineers are working to repair the issue, with an estimated restoration time of 1.30pm today.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and said it will continue to update residents if the situation changes.
"very low water pressure or no water at all"
A spokesperson said: “We’re really sorry but some customers in Bourne and nearby areas may have very low water pressure or no water at all.
"Everything should be back to normal by early afternoon.
"Thanks for your patience while we fix this.”
The outage has also forced Bourne Academy and Bourne Grammar School to close for the day.
In a statement, Bourne Academy said: “This decision is not taken lightly, however without a water supply we are unable to provide students and staff with toilets, catering facilities and drinking water.
"This situation is beyond our control, but we do apologise for the inconvenience.”
Bourne Grammar School also confirmed its closure, citing the lack of toilets and drinking facilities due to the outage.
Anglian Water teams remain on-site working to restore full service as quickly as possible.
Residents are advised to monitor the company’s live updates.
