Body recovered from River Nene

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances around the man's death

Police have recovered the body of a man from the River Nene in Peterborough.

Officers were called just after 2pm yesterday (25 June) following reports of someone in the water.

A statement from Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at 2.10pm yesterday (25 June) following reports of a body in the River Nene in Peterborough.

"The body of a man in his 30s was recovered from the river by the fire service a short while later.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death."

The police cordon has now been removed from the area.
