Arrest after Peterborough stabbing

A 17-year-old boy, from Peterborough, has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm to a 16-year-old boy.

He remains in custody.

Police were called at 5.23pm yesterday evening, to reports of violence near the bus station in Queensgate.

A teenage boy was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with stab wounds. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The bus station and the nearby underpass were both closed, to allow officers to secure evidence. There will be an increased police presence in the area.
