A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 months in a young offenders institution after a robbery at the Lord Protector pub in Huntingdon.
Donald Chatten held a serrated pocketknife to the face of a man, threatening him during the incident on 13th January.
The robbery occurred at about 5.15pm when Chatten stole items from the victim’s side bag.
The victim, who recognised Chatten from school, requested the return of his belongings, prompting threats from Chatten.
Chatten told the victim, “it’s the knife or the bag” and asked, “do you want to feel the blade?”
Swift Police Response and Legal Proceedings
Following the incident, the victim’s partner informed the pub landlady, leading to Chatten being asked to leave the premises where he was barred.
Chatten left the pub and drove away in a Ford Fiesta.
Armed officers arrested him later in Coldhams North, where Chatten showed aggressive behaviour and made threats to police.
Chatten was sentenced on Friday, 7th August, at Peterborough Crown Court after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
