Drug dealer caught red-handed in Peterborough jailed
Ahmed Hussein was spotted by officers on patrol
A drug dealer has been jailed after police spotted him conducting a suspected drug deal in a Peterborough park.
Officers were on patrol in Stanley Recreation Ground at around 12.30am on Saturday (1 August) when they saw Ahmed Hussein, 33, handing over drugs.
Hussein ran away carrying a bag, but officers chased him and arrested him.
Police say Hussein told officers "there's a surprise in the bag" before they searched it and found eight individual deal packs of cannabis, cannabis resin, more than £150 in cash, digital scales and two mobile phones.
Hussein, of no fixed address, admitted having cannabis with the intention of supplying it.
He's now been jailed for nine months.
DC Igor Simonov said: “This was an excellent spot by the officers on patrol.
“It was clear what Hussein was up to and the fact he ran only confirmed their suspicions.
“I’m pleased he has appeared in court so quickly and been jailed for his actions.”
