A 52-year-old man has been jailed after breaching a court order by committing a sex act near a children’s play area in a Peterborough park.
Gary Smith was seen by a member of the public near the play area on Grove Street, Fletton, on 31st July.
Smith has a criminal behaviour order (CBO) prohibiting him from entering public parkland or gardens until 2029.
He admitted breaching the CBO but initially denied outraging public decency. However, at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (14th January), Smith changed his plea to guilty on the second count.
At the same hearing, Smith, who has no fixed address, was jailed for 22 months.
PC Millie Pinguenet said: “Smith’s behaviour was blatant and absolutely disgusting.
“He knew the criteria of his CBO but simply chose to ignore them. I’m pleased he has appeared in court and been jailed for his actions.”
