A new pump track could be up and running in time for the Easter holidays – despite the weather.

Work started on Worcester City Council’s 'flagship' pump track in Perdiswell earlier this month where it's being built next to Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester.

The facility has been described as a “destination track” for cyclists across the city, with the authority also adding it has been "carefully designed to cater for all abilities".

Alan New, leader commissioner for leisure, play, health and wellbeing, said “incessant rain” wasn’t helping but the council wanted children to have use of the facility “throughout the spring and summer months”.

“We’re on track,” he told the council’s place and economic development committee on Monday (26 January).

Visual plans for the facility were revealed back in December during a drop-in event held at the leisure centre and has been designed to be larger than the one which opened at Battenhall Park in 2024.

The council announced at the time the track was expected to open in April but was subject to weather conditions not causing any delays.
