On-demand bus service continues to grow across the county
Worcestershire on Demand is marking its fifth anniversary with record-breaking passenger numbers as the innovative transport service continues to grow across the county.
Launched in 2021 as a pilot scheme in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire on Demand has transformed local travel by helping thousands of people access employment, education, healthcare appointments, and other essential services.
The service now spans large parts of Worcestershire, becoming a vital part of the county’s public transport network.
Over the last 12 months, Worcestershire on Demand completed over 80,000 journeys, bringing the total passenger trips since its inception to 211,108.
This milestone underscores the service's popularity and its crucial role in keeping rural communities connected.
Features and App Usage
The Worcestershire on Demand app allows users to book trips at their convenience, travel within their designated zone, and reach locations beyond zone limits.
App features include live vehicle tracking, making it easier for passengers to estimate bus arrival times.
The app has been downloaded nearly 24,000 times, reflecting the increasing demand for the service.
Passenger satisfaction is notably high, with riders giving the service an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 due to its reliability and user-friendly design.
