Worcestershire's Becky Hill is set to return to perform in the county today (28 June) as part of a national celebration of grassroots music venues.

The two-time BRIT Award winner is involved in the Everywhere at Once festival which has been running over what normally is Glastonbury weekend.

It's been organised in partnership by the National Lottery and the Music Venue Trust and altogether will see around 2,000 of major artists, touring acts and emerging talent take to the stage in hundreds of the spaces all over the UK.

Hill, who's from Bewdley, will hold her gig at The Marrs Bar in Worcester, a place she played at when she was starting up and has since been to visit ahead of her performance.

Owner Brian Maher originally opened the venue, which has a capacity of 250, back in March 2000, he said he can remember Hill coming to one of their jam nights, which has now been going for 26 years, and it is great to welcome her back.

"It's lovely to see her coming back and people remembering where they've come from," he said.

"We had the same thing with Ed Sheeran when he used to come here, then when he got huge, he came back and did a free gig just as a thank you.

"So it is beautiful when people do remember their roots."

Mr Maher added they've welcomed other famous names over the years such as Hereford's own Ellie Goulding and Newton Faulkner, and tickets sold out for Becky Hill's return in just under two minutes.
