A woman who defrauded her employer of nearly three quarters of a million pounds, has been jailed.
Donnamarie Wood, aged 47 of Kemble Street Redditch appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday 9 October. She was sentenced to five years in prison after she pled guilty.
Wood was working as an accountant at Concept Display Systems in Redditch, and syphoned £678,000 to her own bank account.
She was charged with fraud by false representation, and concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property between January 2019 and July 2023.
She was also charged with false accounting between May 2020 and July 2023.
Detective Constable Lizzie Houldley said: “Wood abused her position for her own financial gain and defrauded her employer out of a substantial amount of money.
“Fraud investigations are often complex and lengthy but we were pleased to see Wood brought before the court, and for those who were defrauded to get justice.”
