Worcestershire County Council facing bankruptcy over financial blackhole
It's as a council report says they'll have a £33.6 million funding gap.
Worcestershire County Council could be declaring itself bankrupt, as it faces a 33 point six million pound blackhole in its finances.
The local authority is set to ask the government if it can sell assets or borrow to fund day-to-day costs.
A council report said it wouldn't be able to balance the budget without exceptional financial support.
Papers for a cabinet meeting next week, said the council needed £33.6m in 2025-26 and a further £43.6m in 2026-27.
