Worcester teenager banned from driving after 98mph speeding offence
19-year-old Musa Rafiq caught driving dangerously near a local primary school
A Worcester motorist has been banned from driving and sentenced to community service after being convicted for driving at 98mph in a 30mph zone.
Musa Rafiq, a 19-year-old from Canterbury Road, Worcester, was caught speeding along the A4103 in Leigh Sinton, Worcestershire, on 20th February 2026.
After a thorough investigation, Rafiq appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court last week, where he was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
In addition to the driving ban, Rafiq has been ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work.
He must also pay £85 in court costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
The speeding offence took place in a residential area known for prior road accidents, and is only meters from a local primary school.
West Mercia Police expressed their commitment to hold law-breaking drivers accountable, suggesting that the outcome should serve as a warning to others contemplating such reckless behaviour.
