Man arrested after rape investigation launched in Worcester

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody

A man has been arrested following a report of a rape in Worcester.

Officers were called to Windermere Drive around 9.30pm yesterday (Friday 31 October) following a report that a woman in her 30s had been raped.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody.

Inspector Natalie Arrowsmith from Worcester’s Crime and Vulnerability team said: ā€œWe are pleased to have quickly identified an individual and bring him into custody for further enquiries.

ā€œThe victim will continue to be supported by specially trained officers and will receive the necessary care.

ā€œI would like to stress that we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public.
