Woman seriously injured after being bitten by dog in Redditch

Police are appealing for witness to come forward

A woman has been seriously injured after being bitten by a dog in Redditch.

The incident happened at around 8:50am last friday (8th May) when the victim was runnig along the footpath between Walkwood Road and Avonbank Close.

The dog, is described as a Jack Russell-type, who was on a lead and accompanied by a man who left the area following the incident.

Police say the woman sustained serious injuries after the dog bit her on the leg.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The man is described as white, in his 70s, of medium build, with grey hair, and wearing a brown top. He left the area with the dog following the incident.

"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have information about the dog’s owner."
