Woman dies in two-car crash in Belbroughton

A woman has died and a man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars in Belbroughton near Stourbridge.
Emergency crews were called to the junction of Heath End Road and Farley Lane yesterday afternoon, where a woman who was a passenger in one of the cars was confirmed dead at the scene.
The man driving the same car was seriously hurt and taken to hospital, while the other driver - a woman - was treated and discharged at the scene.
In a statement, WMAS said: "One woman has died and a man has been taken to hospital following a two-car road traffic collision in Belbroughton, Stourbridge, yesterday.
"West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 4.43pm to the junction of Heath End Road and Farley Lane and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, the WMAS Critical Care Car, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham and a BASICS emergency doctor from Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) to the scene.
"A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a woman, a passenger in the first car, in a critical condition receiving care from an off-duty paramedic and immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
"A man, the driver of the first car, was treated for serious injuries and conveyed under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
"A second woman, the driver from the second car, was assessed and discharged at the scene."
