Woman arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life

It follows a house fire in Worcestershire

A 41-year-old woman is being questioned on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life - after a house fire in Worcestershire.

Emergency services were called to Oak Tree Lane in Hollywood yesterday afternoon.

In a statement, West Mercia Police said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a house fire in Hollywood.

"At around 4pm today (Tuesday 29 July) officers were called to Oak Tree Lane following reports of a fire at a property.

"A 41-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. She remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

"Police, along with colleagues from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, remain on the scene while the area is made safe, and are expected to for some time.

"The road remains closed and people are advised to avoid the area.

"At this moment in time officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the fire, and there are no reported injuries."
