A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Emma Breay from the Operational Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the woman who sadly passed away.

"They are being supported by specialised trained officers at this difficult time.

“An arrest was made at the scene and that person is assisting with our enquiries.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, may have dashcam footage of the incident, or saw a woman walking along the road prior to the incident.”
