Two people who died following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A505 last Friday have now been named.

David Porter, aged 31 and from Letchworth, was the rider of the motorcycle and Paul Sigsworth, aged 40 and from Rushden in Northamptonshire, was the passenger. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their families are being supported by specialist family liaison officers at this difficult time.

The collision happened at around 11.30pm near the junction with Cat Ditch Road, and police officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service.

David’s family said in a tribute: “David would light up a room the moment he walked in. He was kind, caring, and thoughtful, someone who always put others first. An amazing son, brother, nephew, and friend, and a fun, loving uncle, David touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His warmth, humour, and gentle nature made him truly one of a kind.

“We will miss you, sunshine. Our lives will never be the same without you, but your light will stay with us forever.”

Paul’s family said in a tribute: “Paul was taken far too early, he was a devoted father to Cherry, a wonderful son and a fantastic brother. Love you always xxxxxxxxx”

A woman aged in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

She has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Sergeant Luke Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with David and Paul’s families and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“Our enquiries into this collision are continuing and I urge anyone with information that could help to come forward."
