Two arrests made after drone seen over HMP Long Lartin
Officers stopped the suspects last night (Monday 19th May)
Two men have been arrested closed to HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire, after a drone was seen circling above.
A sighting was reported to West Mercia Police at around 10.30pm yesterday (Monday 19th May), with officers stopping a vehicle around 20 minutes later.
A drone was recovered from the car.
The occupants - aged 19 and 33 - have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to convey prohibited items into a prison.
The older male's also being questioned on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The pair remain in custody at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector James Bamber said: “We are continuing to crack down on incursions around HMP Long Lartin and have seized another drone suspected to be used in criminal activity.
“Our response to the issue is not slowing down and we will continue our sustained efforts to detect and disrupt drones around the prison.”
