Trip to watch England play at the World Cup was 'one of the best ever', says Kidderminster man
Mark Ashcroft has been out to watch England play in this year's tournament with his friends
A England fan from Worcestershire has described watching the national side at this year's World Cup as a moment he will always remember.
Kidderminster's Mark Ashcroft, who's an electrical fitter by trade, has been with his friends to to see them play Panama in their last group match in New Jersey, before heading to Atlanta for the round of 32 2-1 win over DR Congo.
They then made the trip to Mexico City for the last 16 clash with Mexico, returning home following it.
"I think it's got to be one of the best trips I've ever done because it weren't just about watching the football," he said.
"We actually found out the New York Masters was on, which was the darts, so we watched that at Madison Square Gardens so that was another box I could tick off.
"Then about 2 days later we went on to watch the baseball and watched the Atlanta Braves."
England are currently putting in their final preparations ahead of tomorrow's quarter-final clash with Norway.
Mark said he'll be watching this one back in this country but there's a chance he might be able to get back out to watch the final if they get there, and he's really enjoyed followed them around for about 40 years.
"The way I look at it, it doesn't get much better when you're with your friends and you're going to countries that you’ve never gone to before," he said.
"Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, they wouldn't be first on the list to go to, but you go to these countries, see their culture and everything, and it's just so enjoyable."
Tomorrow's game is scheduled to kick-off at 10pm UK time.
