The family of 29-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash near Honeybourne, have paid tribute to him, describing him as a caring and loving man.

Ryan Horton died following a collision between his motorbike and a car on Sheenhill Road at around 7pm on Friday 31st October.

In a statement, his family said: “On Halloween we lost a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to a tragic motorbike incident. Ryan, or Fred, as he was known to family and close friends, was a caring man who had a passion for working in the prison service.

“He was an active gamer on his PC and XBox. He enjoyed diving deep into Halo and Star Wars. He played all the games and watched all the shows he could, linked to both.

“To try and imagine a life without Ryan in it for us all is near impossible but we will create a new normal as we know it’s what Ryan would want. Taken too soon and missed by us all daily but finally at peace with Nan and Grandad, so Ryan please do carry on looking down and checking in on us all.”

Officers would like anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles involved – a Honda motorbike and a Nissan Leaf – prior to the crash, to contact them.

Inspector Col Robinson from the Operation Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Ryan’s family and friends.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything which might assist with enquiries. Please email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on [email protected] if you can help.”
