Upgrades are set to take place at Worcester Shrub Hill station this weekend (1st and 2nd November).

Teams from Network Rail will make improvements to the footbridge and canopies, as well as improving track drainage in the area.

Passengers using the station this weekend are being warned of changes to their journeys while the work takes place.

Network Rail say they've worked with train operating companies to keep disruption to a minimum. However, during the upgrades on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 November no services will run to or from Worcester Shrub Hill.

Journeys for West Midlands Railway and Great Western Railway customers will take longer than usual with bus replacement services in operation and changes to the timetable on both days.

Martin Colmey, operations director for Network Rail Central route, said: “These essential station and track upgrades will improve journeys for passengers and help keep the railway safe and reliable. We know there is never a good time to close the railway but this work has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum and we thank passengers for their patience while we do the work.

“If you're planning to travel, please plan ahead allowing extra time for your journey and check before you travel for the latest journey information and travel advice.”
