Teenager critically injured in Redditch crash

A teenager has been left with life-threatening injuries after a crash yesterday involving a car and a motorbike.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Studley Road and Howards Road, Redditch at 12.34pm.

Two paramedic officers, two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham with a doctor and paramedic on board responded to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When emergency services arrived on scene, they found a motorcycle and car which had been involved in a collision.

"A teenage boy, who had reportedly been on the motorcycle, was assessed by the team of ambulance staff and found with life-threatening injuries.

"He received advanced trauma care on scene before being conveyed, by land ambulance on blue lights, to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency care.

“A second person from the motorcycle was assessed and left with police. The car driver was uninjured.”
