A 61-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to stirring up racial hatred by publishing a message in an online messaging group calling for Jews to be gassed.

Wayne Munden entered formal not guilty pleas to eight counts of publishing threatening, abusive or insulting written material when he appeared before a judge at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.

Munden, of Carlisle Road, Worcester, also denied three counts of disseminating a terrorist publication, including a post on X relating to a man convicted following a string of nail bombings in 1999.

The dates of the alleged offences, many of which relate to messages in a Telegram channel, range from January 2023 to May 2024.

Munden was granted conditional bail and is expected to stand trial on August 14 2028 at Birmingham Crown Court.
