In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We've arrested five men and recovered a number of stolen vehicles after officers traced a stolen car to a unit in Willenhall in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thu).

"Officers were alerted after a car was taken from the Bushbury area at just after 12.30am which was later seen entering the unit on Watery Lane by passing officers.

"Upon searching, officers recovered six vehicles confirmed as being stolen in the previous few days from Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Birmingham.

"Various car parts were also located at the premises with these and the vehicles being seized for further examinations and testing.

"Five men at a property were arrested on suspicion of a number of matters, including handling stolen goods, burglary and criminal damage."

Det Insp Lee Medlam from Wolverhampton's Priority Crime Team said: "Each vehicle was in a different state or awaiting dismantling. But we have been able to notify their owners that they have been located.
