A scheme to heat chicken sheds using solar power has been given the go-ahead.

Solar panels can be installed on poultry buildings at Thorngrove Farm in Sinton Green, near Worcester, after Malvern Hills District Council gave permission for the 120kW array.

Grimley Parish Council said the project aligns with its aim of supporting renewable energy initiatives in the area.

Clerk Lisa Stevens said: “This matter has not gone to full council for public debate due to the short timescales involved and the parish council has no desire to hinder progress in this matter.”

District planners said the solar panels will be installed on east and west-facing roof slopes.
