Staff at an Italian restaurant in Worcester which was damaged by a fire engine say 'the sense of community' 'is truly incredible'.

Three people were hurt - two of them seriously - after the vehicle crashed into the premises in the Sidbury area of the city on Saturday night (25th April 2026).

Benedictos posted on Facebook to say those who were injured are recovering well - and they're back to business as usual.

West Mercia Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and footage of the collision.

At the time they confirmed they'd arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving as part of their enquiries.

A spokesperson said:

"Three pedestrians were injured today (Saturday 25 April) following a two-vehicle collision in Worcester city centre.

"Officers were called to Sidbury around 6pm after a fire engine and a car collided. The fire engine then collided with a building.

"Two pedestrians suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision, and a third pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

"A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue."
