Officers are appealing for information after an investigation was launched into child sex offences in the late 1980s to early 1990s in Redditch.

The investigation was launched after it was reported that a teenage boy was raped by a man who worked as a youth leader at Studley Youth Club.

The offences took place between 1988 and 1991.

One man has been interviewed as part of enquiries and has been released under investigation.

Police are keen to speak to another man connected to the youth club in the eighties who is believed to now be between 70 and 90 years of age.

Officers have not been able to trace the individual and are appealing to the man or anyone who knows who he is to get in contact.

DC Caitlin Allen from the Public Protection Unit said: “Despite extensive enquiries, we have not been able to trace a man who we believe could have information in relation to child sex offences which took place in the late 1980s to early 1990s in Redditch.“We are appealing to him or anyone who thinks they might know the man, who is between 70 and 80 years old and may have previously worked for, or been involved with, Studley Youth Club in the eighties and nineties.“If you think you can help or have any information in relation to the investigation, please get in contact with us.”

You can report information by emailing DC Allen on [email protected].
