Police appeal after man dies due to medical incident
A man, aged in his 70s died following a possible fall in Ross-on-Wye with police seeking anyone with information to contact them.
At around 4.20pm on Thursday officers were called to Broad Street in Ross-on-Wye to reports of a man suffering a medical episode, he sadly died.
Following enquiries officers established that a few days earlier a car mounted the pavement on Copse Cross Street in the town, causing a man to step out of the way and fall.
The man involved in the incident on Monday is the same male who died, possibly due to the fall three days prior.
Detective Inspector Ben Pearson, said: “Firstly our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died yesterday.
“Following a number of enquiries we have been made aware that on Monday evening a car may have mounted the pavement slightly when travelling down Copse Cross Street, subsequently causing the man to stumble and possibly fall.
“We do not believe the car mounted the pavement with intent to harm the man. The street is incredibly narrow which causes drivers to often need to mount the pavement to drive down there.
“We are now keen to speak to anyone who travelled down Copse Cross Street on Monday at around 6pm, or was in that area at that time, who may have witnessed such an incident happen.
“I would also encourage anyone who has a dashcam and was in the area to review footage from Monday to see if they captured anything that may assist with our enquiries.
“We are also keen to speak the driver of the car to get a better understanding of what happened, and would encourage them to also get in touch.”
