Pedestrian dies after collision on M5 slip road near Wychbold
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident involving a heavy goods vehicle
A man has tragically died following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle on the slip road at junction 5 on the M5 near Wychbold.
The incident occurred shortly before 9pm on Thursday, 7th May.
Police have yet to formally identify the deceased pedestrian, but officers believe they know his identity and have informed the next of kin.
A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The A38 Rashwood junction remains closed and is expected to stay closed until later this afternoon.
PC Rory Grint-Smith of West Mercia Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or dashcam footage to come forward.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw a white MAN Tractor heavy goods vehicle with a green trailer in the area around the time of the collision to please get in touch,” he said.
