One half of a pair of Worcester brothers, who together ran over 800 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in a two-man continuous relay, has said he's 'so proud' of what they've achieved.

Siblings Joe and Alfie Pritchard completed their journey across the UK, which saw them alternate between the one who is running, towards the end of last month.

The duo set off on the 18 May and managed to finish it within their initial target time of eight days and have raised over £20,000 for the Help for Heroes charity through it.

27-year-old Alfie said they've been sort of "zoned out" since finishing, focusing on catching up on sleep, but said doing it was just phenomenal.

"It feels amazing to be finished and we just can't really thank everyone enough for all the support we had along the way," he said.

"It's mad, you just don't ever think that anyone would come out in the middle of the night to go run with you, some people were running marathons, half marathons with you, it's wild.

"That support meant so much to Joe and I, it dragged us through some of the dark times, especially at night, then coming home to Worcester with everyone here was really nice."

It isn't the first challenge the brothers have done, last year Joe ran for 24 hours straight on a treadmill, while Alfie also completed a triple ironman.

Alfie added it also might not be their last either, he said: "I think during these events it's a bit like running a marathon, during it you're always like, this is the last thing, I'm never going to run again, this is the last one, then you finish and then you get that itch again and you want to go again.

"There's a few more things we want to do, I mean, we haven't planned anything yet and it'll be next year now, but we've got a bit of an idea for the next one."
