Murder investigation launched after man stabbed in Redditch

A murder investigation has been launched after a stabbing in Redditch.
Emergency Services were called to Martley Close shortly after 8:35am this morning (28th April) where they found a 41-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.
The man was taken to the hospital by paramedics but died a short time later.
Police say they believe the stabbing happened in the underpass leading from Longdon Close to Martley Close and Woodrow Centre.
No arrests have been made and officers are carrying out extensive enquries.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher from the Major Investigations Unit said: “Officers were quickly deployed to a report of a stabbing in Redditch this morning, where a man was found with a life-threatening injury.
“He sadly later passed away in hospital, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
“Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries since this morning, including reviewing CCTV and conducting house to house visits.
“The victim was wearing dark clothing when he was found and we believe he may have been riding an e-scooter prior to the incident.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone matching this description in the area.
"We also want to see dashcam footage which might show anyone in the area this morning.
“Information that may seem very small, could be vital to us establishing how the victim came to suffer the fatal injury.
"Please get in touch if you have any information which could help.
“An increased police presence can be expected over the coming days, and we urge the community to speak to an officer if they have any concerns or would like to report information.”
