A man who died after a collision in Hereford has been named as Clive Newman.

Emergency services were called to Tillington Road at around 11.30pm last Monday (4 May) after a collision involving a black Toyota Corolla and a silver Hyundai i20.

Despite efforts by emergency services, 61-year-old Clive who was also knew as "Ted" was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Clive's family have described him as "a much loved and devoted husband, father, brother and son,” and say he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Al Saxton said: “Our thoughts remain firmly with Clive’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. This is a deeply tragic incident, and we are committed to establishing exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.

“We continue to carry out a thorough investigation and would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage, to come forward and assist us. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us provide answers for Clive’s family.”
